My research focuses on care ethics in transitional justice, ethnicized/racialized violence, human rights, international law, African philosophy, and civic engagement through service learning. I am a resident assistant professor in the Department of Political Science and International Relations, the Interim Internship Director for the department, and am affiliate faculty in the African Studies Program. At the American Political Science Association (APSA), I serve on the executive council of the Political Science Education section, was the 2022 program co-chair for the Political Science Education Division, and served on the 2022 APSA Poster Award Committee. In the past, I served as a member-at-large on the board for the APSA Human Rights Division. I have experience serving as a Program, Curriculum, and Assessment Coordinator for political science and for public & non-profit administration programs, as a campus Fulbright Liaison and Fulbright Program Advisor, and as a pre-law advisor. I earned a Ph.D. in Political Science from the University of Nebraska–Lincoln with graduate specializations in Human Rights and Humanitarian Affairs (Ph.D.), and Women’s & Gender Studies (M.A).
